Old Town of Šibenik

While vacationing in Murter, we visited Šibenik, a historic city in Croatia located in central Dalmatia where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. In this post I will share with you photos that I took on my Nikon Coolpix B500.

Tijekom ljetovanja na otoku Murteru, posjetili smo i Šibenik, najstariji samorodni hrvatski grad na Jadranu. U ovom postu podijelit ću fotografije koje sam fotografirala s Nikon Coolpix B500 fotoaparatom.

Šibenik is a city on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. It’s known as a gateway to the Kornati Islands. It is a political, educational, transport, industrial and tourist center of Šibenik–Knin County and also the third-largest city in the historic region of Dalmatia. It is the oldest native Croatian town on the shores of the sea.

Šibenik je glavni grad te kulturno, obrazovno, upravno i gospodarsko središte Šibensko-kninske županije.Turizam se u Šibeniku posljednjih godina stalno razvija i broj gostiju iz godine u godinu sve više raste.

The Cathedral of St. James

The Cathedral of St. James is a triple-nave basilica with three apses and a dome (32 m high inside). It is also the most important architectural monument of the Renaissance in the entire country. It is often known as "St Jacob's", because Croatian use the same name for both "James" and "Jacob". It is dedicated to Saint James the Greater.

Katedrala Sv. Jakova u Šibeniku najznačajnije je graditeljsko ostvarenje 15. i 16. stoljeća na tlu Hrvatske. Zbog svojih iznimnih vrijednosti katedrala je 2000. godine uvrštena u UNESCO-ov popis svjetskog kulturnog nasljeđa.

Šibenik Bridge

Šibenik Bridge is an arch bridge, road bridge and reinforced concrete bridge  It is located on the highway across the Bay of Šibenik. The bridge is located above the hillside and the mouth of the river Krka and offers a perfect view of Šibenik. What the tourists find interesting is the viewpoint and bungee jumping.

Šibenski most jedan je od najznačajnijih naših mostova koji se prostire preko Šibenskog zaljeva na Jadranskoj magistrali, u blizini uljevanja rijeke Krke. Nalazi se na savršenoj lokaciji te je zato vrlo zanimljiv turistima jer pruža odličan pogled na Šibenik. Ono što privlači turiste je predivan pogled, ali i bungee jumping.
