Anxiety tips

anksioznost, depresija, anxiety

I wanted to talk about this delicate subject that many people avoid because they don't feel comfortable talking about it.

Anxiety...I am pretty sure that you felt anxious at some point in your life.

For example, that awful feeling before your exam, a presentation, a speech or an important job interview. Feeling anxious is perfectly normal at times like this. However,

some people are struggling with anxiety and they find it hard to control their worries which affect their daily lives.

Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe.

The symptoms of anxiety may vary and sometimes they are not that obvious.

  • Do you often feel overwhelmed by your thoughts?
  • Do you overthink pretty much everything?
  • Do you constantly worry about irrelevant things?
  • Do you have trouble sleeping or just breathing?

Then welcome to the club.

fear, anxiety, panic, anksioznost

The start of the new school year is exciting for most students, but for some just the thought of returning to school, is terrifying.
They have too many thoughts.

Who will be my new teacher?
      What if nobody likes me?
      Will I fit in?
What if I say something stupid on the first day?
What if I have anxiety attack in front of everyone and embarrass myself?

But don't let this stop you from doing something you like.

I remember canceling my plans and avoiding people because anxiety got in my way. But the only truth is that I let that happen.

“You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you.” Dan Millman

8 tips when you are feeling anxious

❤ tip 1: take a time-out

It is really important that you have some time for yourself. Listen to music, meditate, practice yoga, learn breathing and relaxation techniques.

❤ tip 2: distract yourself

I know it sounds cringy but counting to ten will take your mind off of what is going on. Repeat the process if it is necessary.

❤ tip 3: take deep breaths

Make sure you inhale and exhale slowly. Controlling your breathing can make you feel less stressed.

❤ tip 4: accept that you cannot control everything

Remember that nothing is as bad as it seems. Just accept things as they are and know that some things cannot be controlled.

 tip 5: get enough sleep

It is important that you get 8 hours of sleep because when you are stressed or anxious, your body needs additional sleep and rest.

❤ tip 6: talk to someone

I know that maybe you would like to be alone and just relax on your own, but it is extremely important that you tell you friends and family when you are overwhelmed and anxious. For professional help talk to physician or therapist.

❤ tip 7: learn what triggers your anxiety

It can be family, school, work. Pay attention to what makes you feel stressed out and anxious.

❤ tip 8: be proud of yourself

You are going through difficult times and you still somehow manage to cope with everything. Pat yourself on the back and know that you are awesome for making it though!

The most important thing to remember is that anxiety CAN'T kill you. Talk to someone what's bothering you and know that you are not alone.

Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength- carrying two days at once.

It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”Corrie ten Boom

  1. I've been struggling with anxiety, both social and normal, for about a year or two now. It really is terrible and I hate it. I've been going to my school's psychologist to 'help' me, but I just get more axious every time I think about going to that office, which is ironic. But anyways, I really hope this post helps other people, because these tips really do work.

  18. I can relate to so much of these. I figured out removing myself from the cause is the best cure, and if it means moving away from home, well, it's moving away from hope. The stress of it is definitely payed of when you are finally free of sleepless nights :D

    1. I agree with you. Sometimes your family or friends can trigger your anxiety and make it worse. The best thing you can do is remove yourself from that environment. Also, not everyone understands what anxiety feels like. A lot of people think that anxiety is often used when we want to get out of some things or just crying for attention. And that is not the case at all. No one should feel this way. <3
